WiiM Home App on Windows and MAC

Hello,
I am new here.
How can I integrate my qubuz albums list into this windows programme.
It works without any problems in the Android app, but I can't do it in the Windows appI would appreciate help and an explanation.

Kind regards
wokahle
You currently can’t - the Windows app is still just an early beta and doesn’t include streaming services. The WiiM Home app is best experienced on Android or iOS

The Windows App has been updated to 0.1.6 beta
Not that different from 0.1.5 beta, but I suggest trying it out

Norton says "no!" and immediately removes the 0.1.6 installer. Does anyone else have this problem? It's a bit weird because if I look at the "Origin" scan, they are perfectly happy with wiimhome.com.

Unfortunate that on Mac it wants to overwrite the App Store installed version. Perhaps called it something else?

As long as you got the exe from Wiim servers, I would trust it, over Norton AV
But unknown sources are another story

Hey guys, I know nothing about streamers, would like to know if i can command the streamer from my pc, choosing the files/streaming tracks from qobuz on the wiim app on my pc. An awnser will be greatly appreciated!

I don't think so, or not without some extra software and tinkering anyway..
The WiiM PC app doesn't integrate streaming service yet, and Qobuz connect (to send/control music directly to a player) doesn't exist yet.
The WiiM is really intended to be controlled from you mobile, to play audio from your PC you would need to use one of the supported protocols, Chromecast, Airplay, Squeezelite, or DLNA. You could try casting from your browser or using an app like Airfoil to capture system audio and send to the WiiM.

It's working e.g. using Tidal Connect from their Windows app.

But since Qobuz doesn't have their own connect protocol yet, this is not an option, indeed.

Does anyone know where the Wiim app on windows stores the "My Library" info (albums, etc)?

I deleted some albums but they are still visible in 'My Library" incl . the album art. Rescan did not fix this

I have it installed in a sandbox, so it's relatively easy to find:

C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\com.linkplay.wiimhome\beets\musiclibrary.db

Hi there... I just tried out the latest beta (0.1.7) and all I get is a black screen showing:

LINKPLAY
Enjoy your audio content easily
Please make sure your wi-fi network is the same as your device.

I have 4 WiiM devices... they're all on the same network as my windows laptop (Win 11 24H2). My Android app has no problem seeing the devices, again on the same wi-fi network. I am using a Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro mesh network.

Don't see much about this issue in the forums. Has anyone run across this, or know how to get around this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I've run into it that problem the past. I have no idea as to why it was occurring. A few days later the issue went away.

vnvjeep,

I forced the Linkplay screen to present itself by intentionally switching to another network. When I then click on the ? in the upper right of the LinkPlay screen, the folder containing WiiM Home session log files opens on my computer. Reviewing these files might provide you with information as to what is/isn't happening with the connection from your W11 machine and your WiiMs.

I did notice that, but I'm not seeing anything that stands out. No errors... just lots of stuff like this... guess it's using the internal APIPA address as the server IP for UPNP? Also strange... does yours show anything similar?

Code:
2024-08-11 08:20:57,530 [Dummy-43 ] [DEBUG] [UPnPServer] received_MSEARCH: 169.254.83.107

I guess the one thing concerning that does stand out, is that it doesn't recognize an SSID (eventhough I have one), and that it's not showing a gateway, while ipconfig does show a gateway.

Code:
2024-08-11 08:19:56,384 [MainThread ] [DEBUG] [network] ssid: None

I forced the Linkplay screen to present itself by intentionally switching to another network.
So this gave me an idea... I switched between wifi networks while the app was open, closed the app, opened it back up, and voila... it worked. Thanks for the tip! :)

I have downloaded the latest beta (0.1.7) and functionally the now playing screen appears to be much more stable. Previous versions were very flaky.
it looks like the ability to connect to a NAS has been added to the functions. I can't recall that being present before. I have yet to test it
The digital signature of this version is timestamped June 24 2024

It might be your firewall or antivirus blocking the connection or that you have to enable a certain network protocol in Windows.
