Hi all,
is there any way to interact with a WiiM device from the desktop of the most widespread OSes?
On ARM based Macs it is possible to install the iPad version and it works fine, what about the others?

Have a nice day
Gaetano

There is a limited beta desktop version for windows and mac, but a mobile phone or tablet is really needed for the WiiM Home app

Maybe a Windows Android emulator or an Android VM (Virtual Machine) could be used?

Well, this is a bit of disappointment. Is there any plan for such application?

What are you trying to do? I use foobar or upplay to cast local music to my WiiM Pro.
Well, it is not just a matter of playing music as I can already do it via Airplay or connecting directly the Mac to the WiiM Amp, it is about controlling the device itself and configuring it. For that you still need to grab the smartphone and do it from there

There are come config options in the Windows beta app afaicr.

Who these days doesn’t have a smart phone or tablet?

Oh sure, everybody has one al least but many of us spend most of his day in front of a PC so it would be so nice to have a native app to rely on :)

If it’s important for you to have Wiim control on your PC you do have the option of installing remote control software on your smartphone and PC and running the Wiim app in a remote control window on your PC.
I’ve tested the Wiim home app running on an Android phone and managed from a Windows PC using AnyViewer in the past.
Not very elegant but it works
