WiiM Home PC App Currently In Beta

Spinning up a thread for feedback on the WiiM Home PC App which has been in beta. We'll post update threads in this forum when they become available, but this is a starter thread per request.

Please note that the PC app is mostly a companion app, it's not fully featured like the WiiM Home mobile apps. It'll control what's playing, but isn't designed as a full replacement for a primary controller. Find out more about the WiiM Home PC app here.

Yes.... But we can always hope and dream for this to be so - some of us are of an age where we are not too comfortable with the teenys-weensy script & functions on a cell phone, particularly when sitting at an office where there is a great big 24" LCD Monitor sitting on the desk just staring at me waiting to be used...

Sometimes I am quite astonished what people name "office"? And the great big screen that stares on you might be waiting for you to work?

The current version number is nowhere to be found. There's no way to know if a new version has been released without downloading the file. Even the installation file doesn't have a version number in its name. What's the point of this thread?

You've got to show a little bit of commitment for these Beta versions!! Download and examine the File Properties on the EXE. If you see the "Unblock" section on the bottom of the General Tab, you'll have to check that and "Apply" before you can install.
(It means that the staffer who packaged it wasn't as thorough as they have been in the past. Same for not propagating the Version directly into the Package File Name. @RyanWithWiiM )

Top left corner is the build number in the latest version.

Yes, once downloaded and installed. For "most of the previous beta releases" (I've collected 11 of them), the Version String has also been embedded in the Package File Name.
