Sounds more like it’s based on an older Linkplay module such as in the WiiM Pro (or audio pro speakers) and hence the older Linkplay app, so I’d say more Linkplay than the value-added WiiM models.

Yep, Bluetooth 5.1 indicates the use of a previous gen Linkplay module to me.

The fact that the press now rather references the WiiM brand than Linkplay certainly rather help their business.

It has never been forbidden to discreetly put a mini or a "plus", "hidden" (no screen)... on "traditionalist" analog amplifications... ;-)
