Recently bought a WiiM amp for my KEF LS50 speakers. Planning in buying an Edifier T5 subwoofer. Would it be a decent configuration for a 25 m2 room? Would greatly appreciate your comments. Many thanks from Chile

Hi @Jarliman,
while your LS50 will benefit from the high pass filtering provided by the WiiM Amp, this subwoofer really is a very low cost offering. I have no idea what alternative products may or may not be available in Chile, but in my opinion your speakers and your amp deserve something better.

You don't need any DSP functions provided by the subwoofer (as the WiiM Amp provides all you need). Some more power wouldn't hurt. The idea is to not just extend the bass response of the LS50 but to actually relieve them of some bass duties. A crossover frequency of at least 80 Hz, maybe up to 120 Hz with a single sub can reduce intermodulation distortion of the LS50.

Many thanks for your opinion.
Will look for a better subwoofer and get back to you again for more help.
Have a good evening,

FR

There are many subwoofer alternatives in Chile. Is there any particular sub you would recommend for my music configuration?
Also, I’m traveling to the US in April for a few weeks. I could bring the product you recommend if needs to be done.
I’m sending you a photo of a subwoofer that I found for you to look at. Let me know what you think.
