WiiM Mini Firmware v4.6.708757 Update - Feb 25, 2025

My updates all came in this morning. Regarding the replay gain capabilities, can the mini access a local share of music now beyond Plex? I’m currently using Plex, but I’d like to access a local share like I do with the Ultra and Pro. Regardless, I’m not seeing the replay gain option at all on the home music share screen. Anyone else?

I would say that the WiiM guys once again hit the jackpot.
I used the RC with the Mini, which at this point Mini is not, and then compared the curve with the curves made with the other devices.
Obviously I used the same parameters. Well, the curve I got is practically identical to the others. Some very slight differences, but I would say that this is inevitable. When I take measurements I hold the tablet in my hand.
Another good thing, the Mini immediately recognised the Dayton with its calibration file. No need to import it again.
For my part, I would say really good work

Everything is there, everything works.
Room correction with external microphone and calibration file possible, so everything is the same as with the Ultra, if I haven't overlooked anything.

Great, thanks @WiiM Team @WiiM Support (y)(y)(y)

It's a pretty unlikely offer to find this rc mode, but also quite simply a peq mode at 2*10 bands on such an affordable machine... (in addition without the necessarily delicate management of a sub output becomes easier...)
I don't think there is anything comparable to this mini streamer, but maybe we can hope for a more polished mk2 version on the audio side one day soon...(?)

Is this app going to be usable with the WiiM Amp (i.e. other products) as well as the WiiM Mini?

I skimmed the thread quickly, so apologies if I've missed it somewhere.

Any thing for us that doesn't want to support the Apple universe?
Yeah, a fire tv version would be good given I have a few spares kicking around - if I didn’t they’re pretty cheap during Prime/Black Friday etc sales.

Yes, but does anyone know if the Amazon Fire TV API/SDK offers anything that could be of use in the WiiM environment?? Anything that isn't already present in the AlexaCast integration?? (Apple Home App is more like Alexa than AirPlay.) (Note: FireTV SDK is only available for Android/AndroidTV.)

Not sure what you mean. AlexaCast isn’t available on the fire tv the last I checked the Amazon music app there, nor does it support video. Also, which SDK do you mean?

Oh, maybe you are talking about Cast from Amazon app on FireTV?
If so, please forget it 😂

Yeah, that’s what I meant :) Also, it’s not very consistent as you can cast to some fire tv models, but not others. Strangely I can’t to my Fire TV Cube even though that’s arguably the most echo-like of fire tv models - although it will play in a MRM group if I cast to that…

Could it be due to different OS versions? It is indeed strange 🤔

Anyway, it would be great if the team could make an app for FireTV as well 😄

Are there any plans for an Android TV or Google TV app as well? I assume the standard Android app cannot be installed on Google TV or similar?

You can’t just take a phone app that’s driven by touch and install that on a TV platform which is driven by menu and remote control, I don’t think the Android UI and SDKs are that flexible.

Correct, and as thought, hence my query re an app for Android TV or Google TV, like the music streamers have. :) Obviously my query relates to the Android platform on the Google TV dongle and streamer, the Google TV OS and of course the Android TV OS which is similar, not a standard TV OS.

I take it this is what’s behind this WiiM post on Facebook, causing all sorts of uninformed speculation - guess that’s what marketing can do ;)
