WiiM Mini Firmware v4.6.708757 Update - Feb 25, 2025

I looked for the update this morning and still no update, so i did a try with the verify updates button and…the update was there and now i have it. I went in a hurry to RC and apparently it seems the same as others WiiMs. Now i’ve no time, but later in the day i will try this new feature to see how it works 🤗

a peq mode comparable to those of other wiims? 2*10?

Yes, 2x10-band PEQ (one set of 10 PEQs per each channel).

The function is identical to the other WiiM devices, except bass management of course, since there's no sub out on the Mini.

as I have already suggested a reflection on the functions side could be done to be able to dedicate the inexpensive mini to the specific use on subwoofer ;-)

It seems to me something along those lines is in the Mini roadmap for a while now:

It is perhaps too early to speculate on the exact functionality, but it does seems promising! :)

I have been talking about it for a very long time...a counterpart to the Dayton dsp-LF module...
rc specific etc
with the added aspect of being connected in sync with another Wiim which would make all the difference...

could even make an OEM module for the sub manufacturer

Weird to announce an update that I gather no once has received yet.
If they didn’t do it that way but only announced it after some people had received the update, you’d get complaints that there hadn’t been an announcement beforehand. Plus it was the weekend when updated seldom land.

Yes, the team mentions it here 🙂.

The idea has existed for several years, with or without correction*, the interest may be there... there always remains the requirement for a serious timing-phase adjustment... at the listening point etc... (and not at the level of the main Wiim device... hihi)

seems to me a function no less interesting to develop than the "dolby" mode...and moreover joins the efforts difficulty on this function
;-)

Modern subwoofers generally have their own correction modes, basic DSP, etc.
