Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with my WIIM Mini. It seems to be completely stuck: the device only shows a solid green light and doesn’t respond to any button presses (short or long).

I’ve already tried the following:

  • Unplugging the power for a longer period – it goes through a restart cycle but always returns to a solid green light.
  • It doesn’t show up in the WIIM app and is not connected to my Wi-Fi network.
  • Based on another post I also tried a different power supply, but that didn’t solve the issue either.

At this point it feels unresponsive and I’m not sure what else I can do.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to recover it, or is this a case for warranty/replacement?

Thanks!

Try another power supply with more power.

Was this device previously working fine?

To elaborate on HGO's message above, it's not just about different PSU, it's about making sure it delivers enough power.
I forget what the requirements were (you can find that out from this here forum), but if you have a PD rated or a Quick Charge brick, they should deliver enough for trying if this is the problem.

I used an PD3 labeled off brand one I had laying around for traveling purposes (USB PD 3.0 is atleast 5V, 15W/3A, but probably 30W/3-5A).

EDIT: ah, you were quick, while is was typing this out, you practically resolved the issue I was describing

Yeh but the device was working fine before. So it's unlikely to be a power supply issue that just randomly occurred now?

Especially when it's powering on as well?! 🤔
There are some indications that the latest firmware has some peak power uses when setting up WiFi. This may cause issues if the used power supply is just enough to run it in normal case.

Hi all, thanks for the great support! I checked my power supply and it is rated output 5.0v/1.0A/5.0W. As said, it worked perfectly fine before.
