Wiim Pro Hotspot usage

ok so being the noob, i am seeing in the app wiim pro-25c4 ssid. If I scan for aforesaid SSID, it's not found. So a couple of questions:
1. is it usable as a hotspot and if so how else what's its purpose? is it specifically for the mini to daisy chain off of?
2. what are its specs, meaning can we attach a passphrase to it; what are its security specifications; wpa/wpa2?
3. i also rtfm and found nothing pertinent.

I think this would just be the initial hotspot the wiim provides for the app to find it to allow device setup.
Similar to a chromecast or bluesound, or any device that needs to be found by an app before it's connected to your network.
