WiiM Pro Plus Firmware v4.8.639035 Update - Dec 18, 2024

4.8.639035
The sound has become bright, drilling, and the stereo image is poorly localized. Qobuz, Deezer, Tuneln
Have you tried turning off your WiiM device and then back on, and checked all your settings?

factually.. I have had for a long time on a wiim plus big highlighting problems which lead me to use a rather brutal peq to try to attenuate it.. but and I have not yet spent time searching via measurements, or on uncompressed radios other than what I listen to, or via a streaming service (which I no longer have)... my case there, it is aac 192k...
may come from an "antenna processing" which was changed but I don t understand why I did not have these problems before... however via the toslink input on normal cd source, I do not have this problem....
"antenna processing"?
problem in the management of flows via wifi?
decompression processing? etc.
;-)
it's been "ca pisse l aigu" for a while in my case... ;-)

I received notification in the Wiim App (version 3.0.9.24122718) today that my Pro Plus had been updated to firmware 4.8.639035 and now almost everything I play results in clipping to my receiver. I did not have this problem before the update. I have tried restarting the Pro Plus, including unplugging it, dropping the max line out level to 500 mV, dropping the pre-gain for ethernet to -10db...nothing has solved the problem. Is there a way to roll back the firmware update so that I can go back to playing music?

Raising a ticket to WiiM via the app to let them know about your issue and to request the previous version is the best (and only) way
