Thanks Wiim ☺️ I was missing loudness normalisation in Spotify, nice to see it available.
Are you able to explain how that actually works to a layman? Not sure it works quite right for me but will reboot the device and try again.
My test is Miles Davis Blue in Green vs pretty much any song. Miles is always much quieter than the rest.

Apologies, loudness does work for me.
It makes other songs quieter to match Blue in Green.
I guess the opposite is happening too? If a song is even quieter than Blue in Green?

Does Spotify use track gain or album gain for normalisation? If it only uses track gain it will be of limited use.

Hi team,
I just had this new update downloaded and installed on my wiim pro plus. Unfortunatelly, I deal with serius sound quality issues. Loudness has also been affected. Mostly I use Spotify and radio apps such as TuneIn and Vradio. I deal with the issue on all apps I use. Please kindly advise if any action should be taken from my end.

Please describe these serious sound quality issues that you have since this update?

Hi nren,

If you enable loudness normalization (Replay Gain), it’s normal for the volume to sound a bit quieter. We recommend simply increasing the volume to match your usual listening level.
If you’re experiencing any other issues, please send us a feedback ticket through the app so we can look into it for you.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Bass reduce, shrill high range, "blurry" midrange, along with unusual quiter sound in general. Anyways, I will check on wiim support team's advice (see below) and I will come back if needed.

These issues all sound very unusual, if you say they all started after the latest firmware update.

It could all be put down to replaygain reducing the volume I suppose although that wouldn't affect TuneIn and Vradio.
I understand that replay gain is turned off by default, so unless @nren has turned it on since the update, I wouldn't have thought it would be that.

Since updating to this release I am having serious problems. The app often doesn’t see the WPP. I mostly play music from DLNA and while I can browse alright it often won’t actually play. I have to reboot the WPP to fix both of these issues but they ultimately come back. How can I roll back to the previous firmware?

Better to report the issue via feedback in the app and WiiM will fix the issue.

Hi Dantaipan,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We’ll work on reproducing this issue internally as soon as possible. In the meantime, please help us investigate by sending feedback through the WiiM Home app: go to the More tab and tap Feedback. Once we receive your report, our engineers will look into it promptly. After that, we will assist in reverting your device to the previous firmware version so you can check if the issue still persists.
