not sure it's that big of a deal... almost everyone i know doesn't say BMW properly - the correct pronunciation is SO rare that the wrong one has become the way you refer to the brand.Exactly, this had been officially clarified more than once, yet cheapaudioman among others ignore it or simply can't be bothered with correct pronunciation. Superstar legend YouTubers don't need to be concerned with such minor details I guess.

many examples ikea, huawei, sega, hyundai, etc etc. almost NEVER pronounced correctly around where i live (some i'm guilty of myself like sega!!)
I guess you pronounce Ikea wrongly unless you are from ScandinaviaRight, like I said, just a minor detail easily ignored by the YouTuber crowd.
Funny, I've never had any trouble whatsoever with pronouncing any of the brand names you've listed, and the only one you've listed that I hear consistently mispronounced in the U.S. is Hyundai.
I reiterate that the point I'm making is it doesn't take a ton of time and effort to look into this kind of thing, and get that detail right. If someone is going to the time and trouble to video review a product, it is incumbent upon them to pronounce the brand name right, otherwise they are just another idiot YouTuber whose videos are probably fraught with all kinds of other inaccuracies too. If you can't get the brand name right, why would anyone think you've got all of the other details straight?
While YT videos are not literary works, there is a right and wrong way to do things. I'm not sure why you or others would be so averse to the right way, while staunchly defending the wrong way like some sort of 21st century badge of online honor. I guess if you heard it on an internet video, it must be acceptable/correct then?
I bet you don't pronounce BMW as "bee-em-vay"Right, like I said, just a minor detail easily ignored by the YouTuber crowd.

Until further clarification, I'm going to assume that both "i"s are pronounced like Hawaii, making it a two syllable word. Either that or both are silent and it's more of a meditation chant than a word.So they say but I bet most of us still say weem. If they want it to be pronounced wim don't put two "i"s in the middle.
If that’s the worst of your dumb American transgressions, I’d say you’re doing ok.No, but I do say Noy-mann (Neumann), Noy-trick (Neutrik) and Roy-terrs (Reuters) for example, and I'm a dumb American.
lmao, wtf? chill out man.I'm not sure why you or others would be so averse to the right way, while staunchly defending the wrong way like some sort of 21st century badge of online honor. I guess if you heard it on an internet video, it must be acceptable/correct then?
So it's ok when you do it with IKEA and BMW but not for anyone else to do it?? and you prefer to say SOME german brands correctly but not others...?That is correct, and I am aware that ALL Americans pronounce that one wrong, but much like the silent H in words like "white" I do use locally generally accepted pronunciations in many cases. That doesn't mean I don't take the small amount of required time to look into it, I am generally curious about words whose spelling makes it unclear to me how to pronounce.
lmao, wtf? chill out man.nobody is "staunchly defending" anything... just pointing out the fact that many huge brands have multiple "accepted" pronunciations, which tend to vary regionally.
and you're saying it as if you heard about the WiiM products in a newspaper??

i'm trying to understand the logic.
You can hear the same thing in France (but I don't know where the bm"v" comes from in "common" language)Norwegians would pronounce BMW and BMV exactly the same way.
Now you know why we mess up the vs and ws when we speak English to the best of our ability.
