Hi.

The WiiM Ultra features a Bluetooth 5.3 chip, and the specifications indicate that this version supports transmitting audio to multiple devices.
Could you confirm if the WiiM Ultra can transmit audio to two pairs of Bluetooth headphones simultaneously?

No, it can’t. WiiM devices can only output to one device at a time.

I was told by the team that Ultra supports LE-AUDIO's Auracast. However, I have not tested this and have not seen anyone else test it. Also, I believe LE-AUDIO is still an unstable connection method.

If you have Auracast-enabled Bluetooth headphones, by all means test them and see 🙂.

I’ve not seen any indication in the app that it would allow you to pair multiple BT outputs

I don't know 😅.

I'm not sure the details, but Auracast seems to be a signal sharing mechanism using app. So I think it is possible that it only requires pairing between the WiiM and the app.

That is a pity.

I am currently looking for a "multitool" for receiving and transmitting audio with good quality. Most of the parameters in the WiiM Ultra's specifications match my needs, but the ability to transmit to multiple Bluetooth headphones is essential for me. The only way my wife and I can watch movies while our kids are sleeping is by using Bluetooth headphones (right now, we share a pair of AirPods Pro—one earbud for each of us 🙂). I know I could buy a separate Bluetooth splitter, but I’d prefer not to have multiple devices.

Is there any chance that the broadcast feature, which is supported by the hardware, will be added in a future firmware update?

Only WiiM can answer that accurately - raise a feature request ticket request ticket thru the more/feedback section in the WiiM home app to ask them directly. Good luck.

I understand your reluctance to add more devices, but I think this is the realistic optimal solution for now. (You will have to try it to see if can maintain stable playback...)

JBL TOUR PRO 3 Ear buds

also re: auracast. you would need to get separate headphones as well, because it's not backwards compatible with older hardware. and there just aren't many options yet either...

the best solution for you right now would probably be one of those airplane bluetooth transmitter things with dual output. could be handy on trips as well??
