Recently added the Vibelink Amp to the stack, whats the best method for volume control?
I've seen people say max out the amp and use the ultra volume control in app. BUT that seems wrong to me, is there a way to control the volume of the amp itself from the app? I've set the Ultra Fixed Volume Output thinking I could use the app to control the volume of the amp but doesnt seem to have that function.

or can i pair the ultra remote to control the amp volume?

Wiim please add amp volume control from within the app!!

I have my Vibelink volume set about half way, and control the volume via my Ultra.

The Vibelink does not support a remote control.

ChatGPT in my experience often lacks context or knowledge that you’d find in answers in the forum where this question has already been answered several times e.g. Post in thread '🎉 Introducing the Vibelink Amp – Unleash the Power of Pure Sound 🎉'

Plus a picture of a Wii remote - seriously??

whats the best method for volume control?
I'd say it also depends on your usage.

Post #2 is what I did when my ultra / vibelink pair was in my lounge -- no way I'm getting up to change volume, so controlled from ultra remote / app.

The pairing is now in my study, literally right in front of me.
The ultra is also connected to a headphone dac/amp which has its own volume dial (and remote).
Ultra is now at 100% (but variable just in case I feel like using its remote / the app) and I use the vibelink volume dial because it's so much nicer to use than the ultra's dial, faster than the remote, is pleasingly tactile and within a foot of my right hand!
It's also still extremely easy just to push the ultra's dial to pause / resume music, so overall I have pretty much all the control I need without having to have the app or remote instantly available.

Best, for me, isn't just about quality, but also convenience and ease of use.
As I don't think I can perceive a quality diference no matter what combination of volume control I use this is where I landed, in this specific situation.

thanks for the quality reply. Yeah unfortunately the Ultra or Vibelink amp are within reach (tv console). guess i'll stick with the amp at like 60-70% (tbd) and adjust the ultra volume in the app or remote. not idea but thats the framework we are working in.

i've had the wiim ultra & vibelink amp combo since wednesday & also set to about 60-70% on the vibelink

my wife was annoyed yesterday because she wanted to watch a fitness youtube video in the morning and the sound wouldn't play😆

it's funny when your wife tells you in the morning that the wiim amp pro has never made such interruptions 🫡

i assume that the automated energie loss over night like "hombli" after switching on in the morning the wiim ultra did not fit... there was a new update of the wiim ultra regarding arc... on 9.4. (all cables like 12v trigger is connected)
I'll have to see what exactly the problem was.

i like the new combination but it's certainly a little less suitable for the rest of the family... one more device doesn't make it any easier🤣

happy friday..

The Vibelink amp will power off after 1 hour of idling with the LED going off. However, it can usually be automatically activated with a 12V trigger.

After power off with the Ultra's remote, long press the standby button on back panel of Vibelink for 2 seconds to turn off the LED.

Then turn on Ultra and see if LED on Vibelink comes on. (Also, press the Vibelink power button on the WHA's Devices tab and LED should come on.)

If it does not work, please try re-pluging the trigger cable.

Finally, when everything works as expected, the Ultra should be able to simply wake up the Vibelink Amp from its sleep state via the trigger cable, making them work like one unit.

Some people have their amps locked away in a closet, so they cannot even reach the power button at the back. It's mainly a matter of making sure that the trigger cable is OK and the Ultra's trigger out does what it should.

I use a trigger cable. 3.5mm mono cable and it works perfectly.

Hi Wiimer, Team

When using the 12V trigger input, the Vibelink can automatically enter and exit sleep mode, so there’s no need to power it off manually.
Hope that clears things up!

Yes, of course I know.

I was talking about procedure for checking the operation against @obertransae's device issue. (I wrote badly and may have misled you.)

To be precise, I believe that the trigger can't put Vibelink into sleep mode 🙂

If I press the power button on the Ultra's remote, Vibelink's LED will dim and it will enter standby mode. (The LED does not turn off.)

Indeed - ultra power "off" causes vibelink to go to standby, and 30 mins later it'll go to sleep.

And it seems that now that I have a trigger cable connected, when I put the ultra into standby (and the vibelink goes to standby) I get a small pop from the speakers, similar to what I reported before when using the wiim app to turn the vibelink "off"..
