Wrong Cover Pics in USB Database WiiM Ultra Amp

Are you saying that albums with the same name (different AlbumArtist) aren't merged in the Album index when browsing the WiiM server through mconnect? That's not the case with MiniDLNA so implies WiiM have implemented a fix to the device server (as opposed to the WHA).
THAT I will have to check. Give me a minute please.

@simbun
You are right. Tracks with the same album tag are merged by the WiiM even if they have different album artists. BUT the individually embedded covers are still showing correctly.

@multiball
Is it only in the album list that you are seeing the wrong covers or does this also apply to the playback screen when you play a track?
If it’s only in the album list I would agree with simbun that albums are being merged based on their tagging.
In this case you should also be missing some album artists according to my test. The tracks will still be in the merged album but they will all be listed under one album artis only.

That's why I have to assume there are some without.

I don't know how the OP checked, but in Mp3tag you can apply a filter.
He wrote that he had checked all his files. See below.
What I do not understand, with the program MP3Tag on Windows, all images are displayed absolutely correctly for each individual title. I have looked through it completely "all 8200 titles" where the error should be. Could it be the IOS app with the iPad?

I did see that, but as far as I know the only way a track can inherit artwork is if it doesn't contain embedded - or if it's corrupt/not tagged as front.

I'd love to get hold of the SSD and an indexing WiiM.

Files.db might offer some insight.

Haha, that‘s what I thought. I‘d love to have a look into his library😂.

I‘m eager to see the answer to this.

His first post implied that track images were wrong too (list being Queue?).
I noticed that when I play a CD and then go to the list of the CD, you see wrong little images in the list of some titles.

I suppose you could try (if we assume that not all tracks contain embedded):
  • Create 2 albums with the same name (different album artists) e.g. Greatest Hits
  • Each with a few tracks (not the first) missing embedded artwork
  • No external artwork, or a third with folder.jpg
In mconnect that's gonna look a mess in the Album index, and I'm pretty sure the Artist index too, but no idea about the WHA.

The WiiM Home App holds (at least) parts of the index in its own cache. You can delete the app cache on Android, but not on iOS or iPadOS. On Apple devices you'd have to delete the app and reinstall it to get rid of the cache.

There's no guarantee that this will solve your problem, it's just one more option.
Don’t work, APP delete and new installed, same Problem

It then looks like this in the list (mconnect & WiiM) and no, when playing, the correct images are displayed.

What album is the artwork associated with the Skelington track from?

To confirm, you're saying that when you play the Skelington track, alternative artwork is displayed on the Now Playing screen? What about in the Queue (accessed via bottom right of Now Playing screen)?

Thank you, multiball.
We suspect that you have two albums both with the album tag ‚Live‘, possibly wit different album artists but not necesarrily.

Could you search for that in your file directory or MP3Tag please? Not im WiiM or mconnect.

It’s „My Live in the Bush of Ghosts“ , it was only in the Overview of albums, and in List. See Pic

It's called "Live" if I'm not mistaken?

This is the problem I was trying to identify earlier in the thread.
I meant are there name conflicts with the effected albums e.g. Greatest Hits?

I think Skelington is missing embedded artwork.

Remember, I say, „all Tags are correct „ on every Album in mp3Tag 🤷🏼‍♂️
When I do now a Fast Scan in WiiM, it shows me other Albums as incorrect. It’s always dirrerent
The in play now Sceen is also correct, see Pic of Colloseum Live, Track „Skellington“

Can you ensure the artwork is associated with Front (in Mp3tag), or just share the track/files.db?

Can you give some examples? Currently we have:
  • The album "Live" displays artwork from another album called "Live"
Which we know can be a problem with MiniDLNA/WiiM.

I have now used Tag Scanner, and it has become better, there are still some pics missing, apparently Tag Scanner has not taken them properly from Discogs and Music Brains. I still have to learn with the subject, thank you all for the support.

The Track files db I can upload, no Problem, maybe later

Hi,
I have more or less the same problems with displaying album covers.
I use a USB-connected SSD drive with over 1000 albums in FLAC format.
Most have one image (Folder.jpg) per album, some have embedded images.
But a significant number are displayed incorrectly, regardless of whether they are embedded or not.
I browse the WiiM music app on my Android phone from “folders” because the other options are too unreliable.
Most of the files are from ripped CDs that have been checked with Mp3tag.
I have cleared the cache several times and rescanned everything. It seems that the latest software updates only make the situation worse.
I've been using my WiiM Ultra for a few months now. It's a great device, but this behavior is very annoying.
See the attached files for an example of this behavior. In this case, all “Tommy” tracks have an embedded image.
Thanks!

I will make you the same offer that I already made to the OP via PM.
Upload the album folders with the wrong covers and the album folders that contain the source of the wrong covers (only samples thereof please, not all of them) to OneDrive and grant me access to it. For this purpose I will send you my e-mail address via PM on request.
I will do my best to find the cause of your issues and give you my feedback. The fixes will have to be done by yourself though😉.
