I have a USB hard drive connected to my Wiim Ultra. After scanning the drive files, the albums show in the Home app and can be played. However, about 10 percent of the albums do not show the Album Art. All files are normal MP3 files and I checked the problem files in Mp3Tag and the correct album art seems to be attached to the files. Why would mp3 files with album art not show the art in Wiim ? I did a second full scan in the Wiim home app but it did not help.

No response so far doesn't mean that people are unhelpful over here. It just means that nobody has a good idea what else you could do. You alread used Mp3Tag, the gold standard for tagging music files to check.

Maybe you could take bite of the file type of the embedded graphics and the pixel size? Have you tried to explicitly re-save the files in question with Mp3Tag?

Here are some recommendations from the developer of Mp3Tag himself on how to deal with strange behaving audio files:

It is probably the image type. Typically players prefer only jpg or png type, some newer ones are a bit more flexible. But even with jpg images, you have to make sure they are saved as "baseline" and not "progressive" type. Progressive jpg images will show in mp3tag but not in most players. I would start there.
