Hello ,
Question:
I had a 70's amplifer ( Yamaha) and altough you hear stereo , 1 vu meter is not working. You only hear it with 60's songs because the way records were taped that way .
I thought it was of because the old amplifer but now i have a " new " one ( Luxman) and it's the same . Its not the amplifer because its not when i play records and when i put the headphone in the Wiim Ultra the sound is also good .
So its either the connection or something in the Wiim . I have already tried different cables , connections and a reboot .
Any suggesties?
Gr.Max

Looked into that ( but the amplifer works with my recordplayer) , they are good .
It's not entirely clear from this photo, but the red plug appears to be connected to the white (Left) terminal.1423.jpg

Please insert the red plug into the Right (red) terminal. Similarly, please insert the red plug into the Right (red) RCA output terminal on the Ultra.

Then insert the other plug into the white terminal.

Edit: Judging by the new photo you posted, it seems to be fine.

I thought so . Strange thing . No 60's music before 66 😂 and 1 vu meter. But for the rest the sound is good .
If anyone has a suggestion, let me know . But for now all members who treid to help me : many thanks 🙏

Its in the cables or in the Wiim . Because with the recordplayer there is no problem at all .
Now I‘m making a wild guess.
You have your speakers connected incorrectly by not matching plus to plus and minus to minus or left speaker and right speaker reversed. At the same time you have the plugs on your turntable switched around. This way it could work for phone but not for the WiiM which is now connected correctly.

Sorry
Could you please tell us once more what the current problem is?
Is one of the VU meters still not moving?
Yes , i can choose left or right 😂.
And with early recordings, like a Beatles record ( by Deezer) with the old recording technic , one channel is far in the background with echo . But with later recordings you don't hear the difference. Only 1 vu meter is not working. The problem is not the amplifer because this is the second with the same problem .

This definitely sounds like you have plus and minus wrong on one of your speakers. Swap them around on the faulty channel and let us know what‘s happening please.

Please search for "Stereo check" on your streaming service. YouTube is also acceptable.

For example, you should find this track readily available.

Play this test track through your Ultra and verify that the sound is coming from both left and right speakers at the same volume. Also, check that the left and right channels do not appear reversed. If everything is normal, the Ultra and cable should be functioning correctly.
Otherwise, as @Aquaman said, please check the speaker cables again.

Btw, In my bedroom, I have the same Focal Chorus 716 speakers as you.😄

In an earlier post you said both VU meters were working now you say only one is.

The good news is: There's no way any of the components could be defective for 1960s music only. :)

The first step for structured trouble shooting should be to set the WiiM Ultra to Mono mode. :)

Next, connect all the cables for one channel only throughout the entire chain. Make sure everything works. If so, use the very same cables (and I mean exactly the same single lead of a stereo wire) to connect the other channel.

If everything works and sounds the same for both channels one after the other then there must be something wrong with the previously unused cables or their connection.
