Hello - looking forward to Wiim but...

Currently have jRiver -> USB -> multi-channel dac for a three-way active system, It's important to keep the channel mappings so I don't set a thousand watts of bass through my tweeters:) Can I connect the Wiim pro to my multi-channel dac (Motu mk5) and keep the channel mappings intact?

I basically just need it to pass along the signal that's currently going out through USB, untouched.

Thanks!

Welcome.

I'm assuming you currently have jriver running on a pc, usb out to Motu.
When you say 'pass along the signal' I'm assuming you don't mean that quite so literally; you want something that can play your files you currently play with jriver (and anything else, e.g. spotify, tidal, qobuz etc.) and can send usb into to Motu.
If you want / need usb into the Motu then you'll need an Ultra as the pros don't have usb out.

Thanks - yes - looking to send the output from the laptop that's currently going via USB to the Motu, to the Motu via the Wiim. Good to know the ultra can handle this.

Can the wiim transmit 6 channels of audio over spdif or optical? That could be a work around - jRiver->[eithernet or wifi]->wiim->optical->dac.

Thanks for letting me know?

As far as I’m aware WiiM devices only output two channel stereo PCM over their optical/coax outputs.
