AI - utopia or dystopia? A brave new world...

AI can be of use!
I hope that Spotify is going to use it also in this way.
Personally I think it should be a nobrainer that, based on your stuff you like - and say so, and put that song in one dedicated playlist - Spotify should be able to get better and better predicting what you like and suggesting it!
It is already pretty good, but it always can get better! 👍🏻

I consequently tell Spotify what I like ✅ and dislike ❌ and hope it will be used for future selections. And I also hope it does not interfere too much with suggestions they want to make out of their sheer commercial interests. BUT exactly here I see conflicts: I get more and more suggestions of „AI produceers/artists“. Most stuff is really bad. Also here consequently I advise Spotify to not play this „Artist“ in the future. I check here, when they started „producing“. If its only going back to 2025, I more or less exclude/ delete everything! Actually it is quite some work! 🥵 There is more and more I need to exclude…

I can see a conversational mode, AI or otherwise, being useful when asking for music to be played via a voice assistant, especially when it comes to classical music where you could start with a composer then drill down by symphony, for example, then refine that by orchestra and composer to get the right version you want to hear.

Actually, I see much more of an advantage, if you don’t know exactly what (version) you want to hear. AI might suggest you things, that you were not even aware of before…
However, in this case, it could be a challenge to define verbally what exactly you want to hear…
