Airplay Intermittent gaps

Notice that Apple Music streamed via Airplay frequently freezes as you start on a new track. It appears to a buffering issue as you do not get the problem if you replay the track. I have played using Tidal Connect and it doesn’t manifest this problem.

My question Is if there are any buffering issues with Airplay? The bitrate is also not displayed with music is streamed with Apple Music vs Tidal Connect. Is there a reason why? Is the connection with Apple Music unstable and hence reflecting these intermittent freezing.

Would like to poll if others have experienced similar issues and if you have circumvented it through other means?

Playing Plexamp to a mini using Airplay this evening with no dropouts at all. Could be you have a network issue

I connect the Wiim Pro through ethernet connection. So the network should be fine. I don't experience the gaps from Tidal Connect.
Since Tidal Connect connects through Ethernet vs Airplay which is wireless, the bitrate is higher. That may account for some of the differences in the quality of sound.
I am leaning to the situation where Tidal Connect is a better quality connection vs Airplay, at least for the Wiim Pro.

Tidal connect is definitely better than Airplay!

I have the same issue on my wiim mini using iPhone XR streaming Apple Music lossless through AirPlay . Tidal connect no issues .

It is in the beginning of a song but sometimes it can happen in a random moment.

Connection is very strong only 5ghz setting .Router is near WiiM mini ( no walls interfere)

I prefer Apple Music to Tidal so I wish fo a fix . It is now better than before.Less issues with the latest firmware .

Same here. I connect WiiM Mini with optical output to my speakers. Usually I'll use iPhone/iPad to stream my media through Airplay to the WiiM Mini. I have been using this setup for over a year without issue.

Start from 2 weeks before, I found everytime when I try to use Airplay to play a new song, the soundnot comes out immediately. I've tested it usually will need to takes around 1:30 minutes of playtime, then the music will comes out (from the middle). And then if I drag through the timeline of this song, it will reflect the time change immediately. However, if I start playing the next song, the same waiting issue will happen again.

I'm not sure if this issue related to the firmware update on Jun 1. Tried to contact the WiiM support team but not repsonse yet.

I am getting the same. Is it happening for you? Here is my post -

I have turned off Sound Check in the Apple Music app and it seems to have helped. It has not eliminated the problem entirely.
