yes and if I had benefited from it then I wouldn’t need to ask for help in hereYou can start by checking out the Alexa FAQ in the WHA (WiiM Home App) Settings tab.
Ok, so you did read it. Goodyes and if I had benefited from it then I wouldn’t need to ask for help in here
You may also find this link useful re using Alexa commands to play music - it’s a long read and not entirely up to date, but very comprehensive.Hi
Can anyone talk me througt how to set up Alexa? And how to get it to work?
Thanks

Hej henning
I don’t think you need to change that on the device settings page, but in a room group - the built-in speaker is the Amp itself already
Have you read my link above where it explains giving the device a simpler name, then use the WiiM remote to request music?Hej henning
So far so good, but what’s next?
I saw it wrong.I don’t think you need to change that on the device settings page, but in a room group - the built-in speaker is the Amp itself already
Can the OP's screenshot confirm that? I think we need a screenshot of the inside of the dining room., but in a room group - the built-in speaker is the Amp itself already

Well I Didn’t see anything about “another name”, sorryHave you read my link above where it explains giving the device a simpler name, then use the WiiM remote to request music?
To help us pitch the level of advice we might offer, how much Alexa experience do you have in general?
Because most people will probably think you've spelt Thomas's incorrectlyWell I Didn’t see anything about “another name”, sorry
Why can’t I call it “Thomas’s WiiM amp” ?
if you are going to use Alexa voice commands then there’s a very good chance, as I explained in my link, that Alexa won’t understand a request like “play music on Thomas’s WiiM Amp”. Where Alexa is involved, it’s better to use shorter, more easily understood names, hence me calling my WiiM Mini “puck”Well I Didn’t see anything about “another name”, sorry
