Hello from Germany,

i have the WiiM Pro. What audio quality can I achieve with the analog cinch output ? I use Amazon Music Unlimited and the WiiM Pro is analog connected to a Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V781

Thank you

The yamaha has 2 each of optical and coax in, right? (Not sure what resolution they accept though.)
Why not try them to see which dac sound you prefer, the wiim or the yamaha.

As for your direct question, the wiim will accept up to 192/24, which amazon can provide on some tracks, but analog out doesn't have a 'quality' as such, apart from how it sounds to your ears.

Adding my two bits, the DAC in the WiiM Pro seems quite good to me, better than I expected. I'm listening to it now through an analog-only receiver (Harman Kardon HK3385) and would have a hard time making the "better/so-so" call for/against the coax output to an Onkyo TX8050 2-channel receiver. They all sound more than nice enough to my old ears. But ... I don't have an AV/multi-channel receiver of the home-theater persuasion, so I have no idea how well such receivers (like the Yamaha RX-V781 ??) handle stereo output.

With a multi channel AVR you just need to set the input in question up to be stereo only usually in "direct" mode which is supposed to bypass the DSP.

My AVR is an Onkyo something with optical and coax inuts.
The onboard DAC is 24/192 capable but I actually use an external DAC - a Khadas tone 1 which is 32/384 capable - into analogue input.
The input is set up in direct stereo only mode

Speaker placement becomes important just like a traditional 2 channel amp.
The Onkyo also has a "pure" setting which switches off all video processing.
