Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to stream from an Andover Songbird to other WiiM for example the Pro Plus ?

Have several WiiM but want to hide a streamer behind my TV and use the optical output on the TV to stream audio to other WiiM.

My understanding is that the Andover Songbird is "based on Linkplay" and it works great in the WiiM App to send audio to (both from ex. Spotify or a WiiM) but not from.

The WiiM Mini has no optical input and the pro models are too big to fit behind the TV so they are not an option.

Kind regards

Its app is the typical “linkplay” cut down version of the WiiM Home app, so on the surface it does look like you could group it with another Linkplay/ WiiM device to do what you wish. However, I’d doublecheck with Andover themselves.

Hello

Thank you for your answer.

The problem is not that it doesn't work to group, it works fine both from the Wiim and the Andover App. But it is not possible to have Andover Songbird as "the source", only send to. That's where the problem lies as I need to use the Andover Songbird samll size and its optical input to get the sound from the TV.

Had hoped there was some walkaround

Guess you could take the songbird’s analog aux out into a Mini’s aux in, but I guess that might not be at the quality level you’d want.

Thanks for your tip.

I have been afraid that there will be a delay in the sound with several units and would prefer to keep it digital to the amplifier, but it might be worth checking out.

Are you sure the Pro/Plus won't fit behind the TV?
Maybe you could use the space in the VESA mount area: Attach with 3M DualLock. Just a suggestion 😉

Hello

I'm pretty sure it won't fit, the wall mount only builds 3/8 of an inch so in that case a hole in the wall is needed.

Had hoped for a more software-based solution.
