I was previously a direct dealer for WiiM and have been in the residential Audio video business for over 50 years.

I’d like to suggest that you give more options for the application screens.

Many of my clients find very confusing and just too many options.

I two agree that there are way too many options and the ability to simplify much as you are able to with your sources would be a huge improvement

Thanks Rick

Not sure I understood... "...give more options for the application screens..." "many of my clientes find very confusing and just too many options"

Isn't this a contradition?

The layout and look & feel may not always be consistent but why limit options just because it is a little overwhelming in the start? Advanced systems do require that you learn to use them and take your time to do some reading.

One WiiM 'simplification' I'm pleased with is the ability to remove unused WiiM Ultra inputs from the Input Selection rotation cycle/pick list.
Presets, though not necessarily simple to setup, also [potentially] provide simpler usage.

I'm afraid this 'simplification' request is too vague to be actionable. Broad capabilities and flexibility require potentially complex configuration tools - simplifying usage of the resulting setup, once configured, is an obvious and noble goal that's too rarely acheived.

"Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication"

A streamer ....fonctions of streaming.the primary use of Wiim machines.

Wifi or ethernet
Level fixe or reglable
Balance
Num output (resolution) or internal dac.
"Subwoofer or not "...fonctions for subwoofer if yes.

It doesn't seem that difficult to design a Wiim Home " Mini".. with a series of questions to suggest functions tailored to the answers. See above.
Through questionnaires, define the functions corresponding to the machine... and therefore simple needs.

This will concern a good portion of Wiim product buyers...

but of course not the small group of passionate "expert" members of this forum. ;-)

I agree. However, once the WiiM device is set up, it’s ready to use right away. After that, the settings that need to be adjusted will vary depending on how each user chooses to use it. Even if we added a feature like “Simple Mode,” it would be impossible to optimize it for every single user.

In the future, thay might build in an AI advisor so that users can simply chat with it, and the AI will automatically adjust the settings for them.😜

just a suggestion from wiim home for a simplified mode for simplified use...
Just food for thought... the rich functionality of Wiim Home can indeed be confusing for many... or at least initially... or unrelated to "modest" use.

In any case, a serious rethink is needed regarding "level management"... it's clearly become far too complex due to its sheer number...

That’s practically impossible now. Smartphones come with built-in AI, and even Google Search incorporates AI. 🙂

for simplified use

The problem is that what constitutes "for simplified use" varies from user to user. Someone may be satisfied with bit-perfect playback, while others might want to only use the WiiM as a TV speaker.

I'm talking about streamers... for streaming... seem the original use of wiim products..

and my point is just to contribute to the discussion...

a proposal to adapt Wiim Home for personalized use... through questions or AI... why not?
;-)

However, level management has become " unbeatable "... even if possibly disguised by the DRC...
unless you're quite an expert on Wiim Home processes

... why not?
Who said?

I’m just saying it probably won’t be easy. If thay were to add a feature like “Simple Mode,” I believe the Team needs to carefully listen to feedback from many users before making a decision.

Otherwise, there’s a high chance thay will end up with something that doesn’t satisfy anyone.

A long time ago, in what may have been another century, I read an excellent book called Tog on Interface by Bruce Tognazzini, one of the original interface designers for Apple. Apple used to test ideas on potential users: they'd round up some people, try them on different interfaces, and see how they reacted. The results were usually surprising, sometimes hilariously so. As far as I know, nobody does that anymore, because it's expensive and time-consuming: you need a fresh batch of victims test subjects every time, and these days people without prior expectations are hard to find. But I suspect there's no real substitute for it. Speaking as a former software developer, I can say that my own ideas of what is intuitive have no relation to anyone else's :geek:

en francais...
on observe juste si souvant que le moyen le plus sur d avoir rien a faire , c est juste d interroger suffisamment de personnes sur le "quoi faire?"

In most cases and that is as also true for the WiiM Home App, the issue is in the lack of consistency in the look & feel. On top of that bad and hard to understand texts in the UI add to the confusion.
