Will there be an audiophile version of wiim anytime soon? Wanted to sell my lumin. hate the app - wiim’s is better.

I think that this question helps illustrate perfectly the way in which foo has infiltrated the current audio scene. I feel sorry for those who are dipping their toes into the water for the first time nowadays.
Entirely. It’s just not the nonsense that’s spouted around cables in particular (viz. a recent comment in a streaming group that a £10/m solid core ethernet cable “has an ever so slightly dark balance with a prominent midrange, which pushes dynamics up even further. Also outstandingly low sibilance. Wonderful low level fine detail and soundstage and very potent bass end”. Indeed 🤷‍♂️), but the toxic atmosphere and invective should you dare to disagree.

As long as people rely on self-declared specialists or believe too much in advertising this will not change, it keeps a part of the economy running. And hey, as long as people buy the nonsense with their own money? Are you really interested in how other people spend their money? Or do they take it from you? Especially in this forum it seems that the main reason for some is simply knowing-better. Do not want to know how many judges stuff they never had and they never will have.

This forum is trying to help people not getting fooled, if they want to.

Virtues and limitations of the WiiM product line aside, I think it needs to be recognized that people value all kinds of less practical or even less tangible qualities across the board -- not just in the audio/hifi space. If we only ever spent our money on the objects with optimal practical utility, most of us would be driving different cars, living in different homes, and wearing different clothes. Personally I can appreciate build quality and aesthetics that are distinct from practical utility (aka measured performance) in a variety of things. Like so much of the online social space, I think the hifi community generally needs to lighten up and tone down the mockery and acerbic disdain.

It would have:
Single ended outputs with XLR connectors.
Linear power supply.
Spiked feet.
C14 power connector for easier use of audiophile grade power cable.
Worse measured performance.
Do you think it's audiophile?
