Auto ON/OFF function for power amplifier?

I bought a WIIM AMP because I really appreciate the auto ON/OFF function.
If there is an audio signal at the input it switches on, if there is nothing there it switches off again after a preset delay.

I would also like to buy a WIIM ULTRA, but how do I do that with the power amplifier?

How can I ensure that the combination of WIIM Ultra and a power amplifier behaves just as comfortably?
How did you solve that? Did I miss something?

If the amplifier have a 12v trigger input, it can be controlled by the WiiM Ultra.

Not all amps will. I have an arcam p80 and the ultra will power it on using the trigger, but not off. I raised a ticket with wiim This was their response

"Hi ,
Does the Trigger Out stop working when the Ultra is unplugged, or does it only stop when the Ultra goes into standby? If it's unplugged, we won't be able to address that issue. "

My Amp goes into standby when I unplug the trigger cable, but not when I power down the ultra. The amp also shuts down when it doesn't sense an input from the wiim after 10-12 mins, however it will randomly power back up again at times when no input is selected in the amp. As this is in a bedroom I just manually power the amp on and off. I think other people have addressed this issue with a remote switching power cable

Auto-sensing works just fine for me with the 3e Audio A5.

Reviews can be found on Audio Science Review and Archimago's Musings. For some users the auto-off is too sensible with the (optional) volume bypass enabled (in particular for desktop use or with very high sensitivity speakers). Turing down the volume a bit can solve this.

So, neither trigger nor auto-sensing are 100% trouble free, but for me auto-sensing does it. Btw., it also did with the V3 Monos, but I like the A5 better.
