Auto updated again, and stuttering came back (WHY??! PLEASE STOP)

Nope no updates for a ONT if I used my ISPs router that would update... Unlike Virmin or ISPs that use shared IPS (cgnat), I can plug my Asus router in directly, no need to set the ISPs router as a modem etc... My ISPs router is in a box somewhere, as soon as the tech left I plugged in my own routers (2x set as AI Mesh) set then up with U/P done..
I have a similar situation I use 3 5g but I have my own router in bridge mode which blocks any isp updates 👍

Edit added piccy
I have seen references to ONT firmware updates online. If it did update automatically overnight how would you know? 🤣

It isn't really a question of belief. Maybe the Openreach engineer was lying, I wouldn't be surprised.

He is using a none standard one, not sure why he replaced his ONT a friend has 3 Gbits and has the same ont as me...
Anyway you are pulling hairs, good day to you...

Edit.... Pmsl I couldn't be bothered to run the fibre, what the hell is he talking about, terminate it at the cab himself lol I call BS
You can't just run a cable to the pole especially as an end user..

Is that related to the Openreach engineer confirming a firmware update 🤔

It’s how the device was designed. If firmware has issue like stutter majority on this forum will say and report them. It’s on your end that has issue. Maybe your wifi is congested and has lots of interference or your broadband is slow as dial up. It’s not nice bashing wiim about update when you’re the only one that has stutter issue. Send message to wiim via app they can look at your log and suggest a fix.
I'm always amused at the arrogance of these guys. It was always the same on the Sonos forums. The "stuttering" issue was ALWAYS a WiFi or network issue, completely unrelated to the device, yet these guys would never accept that fact, no matter that they're the ONLY ones experiencing the issue.

Actually it was always the persons network for any issue on the Sonos forum 😜
