Auto updated again, and stuttering came back (WHY??! PLEASE STOP)

Maybe you happened to click it at exactly the right time 🙂. I never leave my Amp on so I don't know what happens if an update becomes available when the device is active. Does it announce itself without any manual check?
Sometimes I go to use them and there's the green update arrow next to one of them, sometimes there's a popup asking if I want to apply the update now (but unfortunately it doesn't say which specific device it's for, so I usually choose Not Now and then check back to see which device has the green arrow), sometimes they have updated themselves automatically.

My 2c worth.regards this topic.
I complained to Wiim and opened a support ticket about the auto update procedure, which I detest. Their response was to blocklist my Ultra - also without notice! O ly when I decided to opt for a later update did I discover this.
I consider the lack of user-control of this process to be wrong, despite knowing why they want us all to be on the same page, for support purposes.
The ability to download 1 or 2 previous firmware sets from their website is a practical suggestion. I hope Wiim take this on board.

One of the things to consider is it’s easier for WiiM to support if everybody is on the same version of firmware for each device, other than beta testers. I imagine things could get even more chaotic supporting issues if users were on three or more different versions at any given time. Just trying to see it from their point of view.

Where is this ? Can't find it in settings..
Seems to be just for the Ultra at the moment and you’ll find it under device info/ join beta testing. Guess they might change that description to something like “other firmware”.
