They don't create _ANY_ audio content, lossless or otherwise, as their focus is the sales platform, they create limited amounts of written content to boost the sales platform performance. The streaming part is in there to support the sales platform too and I agree, they don't have an incentive to offer better quality streaming before there is significant monetary benefit in it to pivot their business model that way (which would probably attract unwanted attention from the majors).I think BC would probably not add loseless support anytime soon - as it seems they're focusing on creating (quality) content, not streaming
show me where did I write they focus on creating AUDIO CONTENT?They don't create _ANY_ audio content, lossless or otherwise,

They do allow artists to sell lossless audio via their platform in the form of different formats over mail-order and digital downloads, which is one sort of lossless support.
Sure, "I think BC would probably not add loseless support anytime soon - as it seems they're focusing on creating (quality) content, not streaming". That is how grammar in sentences work IMO. If you mean their focus is on written content, I'd think that is not their focus either, but all of this is way beside the point.show me where did I write they focus on creating AUDIO CONTENT?
yes, where did I write "creating AUDIO content" ? oh, i didn't.Sure, "I think BC would probably not add loseless support anytime soon - as it seems they're focusing on creating (quality) content, not streaming". The point was that they have no incentive and users will have to solve "this problem" themselves.
Since Bandcamp provide downloads which is all I have used it for, simply stating "not streaming" does not make it clear that you meant written content.yes, where did I write "creating AUDIO content" ? oh, i didn't.
and of course I meant creating written content - I think it was pretty clear with "not streaming"
Have you resolved the "streaming your downloaded BC files"-issue somehow?Since Bandcamp provide downloads which is all I have used it for
bandcamp doesn't "sell content". they sell music and merchandise, in physical or digital format - because that's how they make money in order to exist. they're not a streaming service.Anyway guys, I guess nobody wanted to make a fuss out of a pretty clear message. At the time it seems, Bandcamp only wants to sell content. They don’t want to stream content.
I didn't have an issue. I have just tried using the Lyrion plugin though and I can stream albums I have purchased but only as 128kbps MP3.Have you resolved the "streaming your downloaded BC files"-issue somehow?
If you have, I'd be intersted to hear your solution.
I tried to ask what is your solution to local file playback, if you have a local network solution for listening those downloaded Bandcamp files and what it is.I didn't have an issue. I have just tried using the Lyrion plugin though and I can stream albums I have purchased but only as 128kbps MP3.
Ah OK. I add the downloaded files to my local Lyrion library and play from there.I tried to ask what is your solution to local file playback, if you have a local network solution for listening those downloaded Bandcamp files and what it is.
Most of my files are V0/320 MP3's, mainly because of disc space constraints, so ultra light DLNA server is quite enough. My "lossless listening" happens via CD, vinyl and Qobuz on occasion.
We are here on a platform that is about streaming music.bandcamp doesn't "sell content". they sell music and merchandise, in physical or digital format - because that's how they make money in order to exist.
