[Bug] Album title truncated in landscape view on iPad

Yeah, as perhaps wasn’t clear in my comment #2 above.
Can you try playing Radio Paradise with your iPad in landscape mode to see if you are getting any truncation, and if you do, does the rotation trick show the full information for the current track, and then truncate the next track?

It’s as you describe - truncated in landscape, ok then in portrait and landscape, but goes back to truncating the next track on landscape on my iPad Air 13 using iPadOS 26. No problem at all in landscape on my fire hd max 11 tablet.

That’s reassuring to know that it isn’t just me that is affected by this bug. Now all we need is to hear from users with older iPads on earlier firmware versions to see if they also have this bug, or whether it is just those running iPadOS 26. 🤔

Looks like an app issue with v3.3.6. Just fired up my old IPad Pro 9.7 on iPadOS 16.7.10 and the behaviour is the same on it.

That's interesting, so not related to iPadOS 26 then.

Unfortunately, I can't remember how long it has been like this, but I have been looking back through the now playing thread, and most people post screenshots in portrait mode (myself included), but you have posted a few portrait ones, including this one from 7th September, which predates iPadOS 26 (unless you were on the beta version).

The WiiM Home app was at version 3.3.4 back then, so this behaviour could have started with version 3.3.5 possibly?

Perhaps. I only noticed it when they fixed the long standing bug to allow LMS artwork etc to appear in the IPad app which I think was fixed in v3.3.6

At least in V3.3.6, only the text size for artists is larger. I guess this is related to.

I'm not sure really?
The design of the playback screen has been changed in V3.3.5.
Font size and line thickness have been changed.

3. "Now Playing" Screen: Optimized layout for a cleaner fit across all phone sizes.

If this is relevant, it certainly doesn't work on iPads.

I’m assuming that due to the lack of response to this thread, it would seem that only @Burnside, and myself use an iPad in landscape mode to view the WiiM Home App Now Playing Screen. 🤔

This bug has not been fixed in the new update of the WiiM Home App to version 3.3.8.

@RyanWithWiiM, @WiiM Support, @WiiM Team, are any of you able to reproduce this bug, which seems to affect most things playing on any WiiM device, and using an iPad in landscape mode.

A very simple way to see this bug is to play any one of the Radio Paradise stations from within the WiiM Home App.

Check the artist and album title for truncated information, it’s usually very obvious, and typically the artist name will be complete, unless it’s a fairly long name.

This will usually have a “dot” separating the artist name from the album title.

Often there will be no album title showing at all after the dot, but other times the first one or two words will be there, but the end will be missing.

When there is obviously information missing, this can be restored by rotating the iPad to portrait mode, where you should now see the full artist and album title information.

Then, if you rotate the iPad back to landscape mode, the information will still be displayed in full.

If you are playing a complete album, then the information will be displayed in full for the duration of the album.

If you are playing from a Radio Paradise station, then the full information will only be available for the first track after rotating the iPad, and then it will revert to showing truncated information for subsequent tracks, unless of course you rotate the iPad for each track.

As this bug can be reproduced very easily, it should be fairly straightforward to resolve the issue.
