CD playback issues when grouping Ultra and Mini

I've just hooked up an SMSL PL100 CD player to my Ultra (toslink) and tested playback - initially very happy with what I'm hearing through my speakers..

I then thought I'd see how it sounded when I link the Ultra to my Mini in another room, which I use with a headphone amp.

That however is not so successful - listening to the SMSL via the grouped Mini/headphone audio is jumping/skipping every 5 or so seconds. Am I missing something obvious in the settings?

I don't have any issues when I listen to my turntable using the same set up (TT>Ultra grouped to Mini>Headphone amp)

If it works with your turntable, I would have expected it to work with your CD player. I’d submit a ticket to WiiM via the more/feedback section in the app so they can inspect your device logs for clues.

There is a difference.
Turntable will be analogue input. CD is toslink.

Do the different inputs have the same group audio delay? (In the Audio Input screen.)

I just checked, and no - Optical in was set to 70ms and all other inputs are 800ms. I'd not even looked at those settings before!

That's fixed it, you're a star thank you 🙌

Edit: I've just remembered I set it to 70ms for optical when I initially had the TV connected via Toslink.. Completely forgot! 😳

I'm glad it's been resolved.
I have taken the liberty of marking this thread as resolved, and also changed some of the tags.
Thank you 🙂
