Hello,

The features that wiim currently offers is excellent however there is just one missing feature that I feel is missing. Crossfade between songs is missing!
Both my native apple music app and third part apps offer crossfade. I really wish crossfade was also a part of the wiim app.

Is it possible to crowd fund this feature? I would gladly kick in some $$ for this feature to be added. Anyone else on board?

How would crowdfunding help? The WiiM app is proprietary , not open source, and I wouldn’t think WiiM would react to users trying to fund development in that manner.
Best submitting a feature request thru the more/feedback section in the app requesting that they consider adding such a feature, and they’ll perhaps add it to their development plan if they think it has merit.

You can use a third party app to control your WiiM and get cross-fade that way.

Thanks for the tip. How would one play local files from apple music app through wiim app? I would like to avoid using bluetooth or airplay if possible. I prefer the quality that I get while using the wiim app to play my tracks.

I was thinking of something like Lyrion Music Server but that doesn't support Apple Music.

If the Apple Music app can see those local files, you should be able to see them in the WiiM Home app under My Music as long as they aren't DRM protected. I synced some 24/192 ALAC files from iTunes on my PC to my Ipad and can play them wirelessly bit perfect up to 24/192. I'll post a screen shot later as I keep allowing myself to get diverted away from painting my summerhouse doors ;)

Here’s a screenshot from the WiiM Home app of a 24/192 file which I originally ripped from the LP to 24/192 FLAC, then converted to ALAC and synced with iTunes on my PC to my IPad. Even the humble (or should that be mighty?) WiiM Mini can do that no problem as you see from the WiiM Home app My Music section. If you have the files on a Mac, the beta desktop WiiM home app (or the mobile iOS app if your Mac supports such) will do similar.

Yes, it plays my ALAC files okay.
In that case, if the OP’s files are on a Mac they can install Lyrion/LMS and have crossfade playback to any WiiM device either thru the latter’s squeezelite client or, in the case of the mini, the UPnPbridge plugin - saving $$ 😜
