Digital volume control question - which is better?

You made me think about it, coz I just fell into it that way and when I did think about it, it's from using Bubble all this time, I've mentally parked the Tidal app as non-functional, just tried it this way (via Tidal) and everything works as I want, the flat fact is I got the WiiM entirely to have one remote and to cut the tablet chains!
So, after using Bubble (free) for some time, WiiM Home (free) for a short time and now Tidal (not free) for a few days, the Tidal app by far and away is the worst, what a pos, it's play queue functionality and listening history is abysmal and/or non-existent.

I have the WiiM set to max fixed vol and control volume on my smsl do400 with coax. I think this is a good approach but also my wiim volume rubs when it turns and it bothers me so I don't want to use that anyway. I am however using parametric eq from the WiiM, so I understand my output isn't bit perfect? Does this matter? Is it a placebo? Thanks.

For me, saying WiiM devices are bit-perfect (which they have been measured to be) just means they don't make any unwanted changes to the audio stream. If like me you choose to use Room Correction, PEQ, volume limit etc so that you better enjoy what you're listening to, then you have chosen to change the audio but to your benefit so bit perfect becomes a moot point in my opinion.

Thanks. Burnside always answering my questions on all threads. Lol

Until we realized one day that it no longer works like that. Due to Canard's vision by the way :)

I might have missed that particular ... errr ... prophecy. Are you saying he's actually Nostradamus?

That would be an explanation I could accept.

It's rather not such meaning of vision. Sixth sense maybe, would you accept it? ;)

I'll have to wait and see. ;) For the time being I'm a big fan of wisely applied EQ and make intended changes to suite my taste.
