The roadmap indicated that DLNA Cast would be released yesterday for the Ultra. Has anyone seen it yet? It is not scheduled for my Pro until 11/20 but I was curious if it was released for the Ultra.

No - as usual, the dates in the roadmap are only targets and can often slip. If it had been released, I’m sure WiiM would have put up a new firmware post.

I suspect not, because it is still in Beta on the other devices, and with no update for more than two months, I wouldn't hold your breath.

Agreed. Just hoping since they updated the Roadmap on Oct. 5. This feature will mean all I will need the Sonos software for is occasionally changing speaker groups, which I do not do all that often.

Just noticed an update come through with DLNA casting....A-Ma-zing. Paired Ultra back to my main PC where my media library sits just to do a quick test and it plays first time! Now I accept that the pc is not the intended target, but I could not find a way to see the player on PC or control the volume.

One suggestion: the names of my devices can be long being "PC name-dac name" but in the app it only shows left most 20 characters. The means all my devices have the same visible name. The app will not display in landscape nor will the name chase thro the available space.?

Hey everyone, do you have any idea if this Beta is also working for the wiim amp? or if they have any plans to have DLNA cast on the wiim amp?

The DLNA Cast beta is still available for the WiiM Amp, but it still doesn't work for me.

How do you install it? when i check the join beta, it does not find anything :_(
What do you mean by it doesn’t find anything - doesn’t it find the beta firmware and update when you check the join beta button, or doesn’t it find any DLNA targets under audio output after it does update?

It does not find the beta firmware and update when i check the join beta button.

I have the wiim amp with firmware version 5.0.726147 and build date 20250813

Edit:
i also have a wiim pro, and there i can see the beta firmware (but i'm not gonna update it cause i have the old firmware with the supported airplay 2 cast which i need and works still well)

I’d try a power cycle of the amp and if that doesn’t resolve it then raise a ticket via the more/feedback section in the app

You are on the same version as I am, so it's strange that you don't have the beta option available that I posted above.

yeah that's weird, power cycling does not solve the issue, still can't see it, i'll try to raise a ticket. Once you upgrade to the beta version can you go back to the stable one? :)

not sure if the DLNA cast to sonos works fine, i wanted to test that.

Yes, you should be able to.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, in my experience the DLNA Cast feature is nowhere near as good as the WiiM Cast feature that you still have on your WiiM Pro.

I wish that I had kept some of my devices on that firmware.

ok thanks a lot for the help, i raised i ticket, i will report back once i have a solution and see how this beta goes xD yeah i have been following the beta since the beginning but i did not have another wiim device to test it with, i won't give up the wiim cast ever !
