Of course, WiiM offers bt so you should have the chance to connect your hires codec filled headphones to the device. You know, all this LDAC and aptx will be ignored and you end with SBC. But you want to do it anyway.
My question is: Why? You have your Android phone or tablet you likely bought the headphones for. The use case with a WiiM really does not make sense for me. Where a WiiM is doing it's job there has to be a wifi or ethernet connection. So wtf is the reason for bt here?
Don't get me wrong, I love my bt headphones. But for what I've bought them. For phone or tablet.
If I remember correctlyI he said he listen to TT with headphones.

Oh man, I'm not trying to start an "argument" and I'm not jumping to any conclusions, I'm starting to "draw" some conclusions between BT 5.3 headsets and less than 5.3, not saying all or nothing either. I bought the WiiM to replace a pile of discrete components that I thought I did a good job putting together but in the end I just didn't like both the aesthetics and end-user unfriendly interface (I was the only one in the house that knew how to use it). I listen to my main 2.1 speaker system about 33% (would like more but it's in a shared area unfortunately), listen to my wired Sennheiser 58X open backs about 33% and the remaining 34% via BT headphones while I'm working at my desk computer which is only about 12ft from my system.

I know the differences in quality and to my old ears BT vs my Sennheiser's is only a few notches difference.

My audio life is much less complicated now vs my previous setup:

Today short tests with Philips Fidelio L3, Fidelio L4, and Sennheiser HD450 BT: No abnormalities either. WiiM Ultra with Ethernet.

SBC/AAC results in a noticeably poorer listening experience than when used with a phone/tablet using apt-x/HD or LDAC. In this respect, I would not consider using the WiiM with Bluetooth headphones, despite my aging ears 😉

Just to throw another solution into the mix....

I occasionally use a Fiio BTR13 Bluetooth paired to my Pro and wired headphones plugged into the BTR13.

I have never had any significant problems and you can use your fav wired headphones over Bluetooth

There are a myriad of dongle DACs with BT on the market if the Fiio is not to your taste

My buggered ears find the SB perfectly acceptable 😁. What's playing is a more significant factor eg. Vanessa PheLps on LBC versus Paul Simon on Graceland (there are many others!)

This is what tier 1 support said in response to my case:

Code:
Hi,

We apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced.

What we mean is that we plan to address the Bluetooth compatibility issue in the future, but we are unable to provide a specific timeline. We understand that you were hoping this would be resolved within the return period, but unfortunately, that won’t be possible.

The issue you're experiencing with other Bluetooth speakers may also be related to Bluetooth compatibility. In the meantime, we recommend using a wired output as an alternative.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
WiiM Support
