Does music sound better with the lights off?

From personal experience I’d say yes but for me it really needs to be pretty dark so I can’t see the speakers and ideally not much else either. I’ve been listening in the dark since about 1987.

The wife thinks I am mad!

After extensive research and testing today I’ve finally awaken with my results. It was neither darkness nor DACs or expensive cables but it was the hard seltzers that made the music sound MUCH better 🤣

I've always been a fan of listening to music in the dark if possible. When I say dark, there are lots of tiny LED's on various bits of equipment that make it feel like you're at a live event, so not totally dark.

Or even better if you switch the lights off, put a bag over your head and think of England.

I don't believe the sound quality changes at all, but I definitely find that my ability to hear/listen improves quite a bit when I close my eyes and/or shut the lights out.
