Don’t sort on “the”

I would like to see the alphabetical sort ignore “The” at the start of a band name.
In that way The Beatles would show up under B and not T. It would also mean you wouldn’t have to try and find something in amongst lot of Ts
In my previous app there was an option to ignore The.

Hmm ... I don't think so, and if so, why should I personally care? It's up to me how I build up my collection. Especially as it seems logical to me

The OP don't say what the source is. So good luck getting Tidal or Qobuz to change to another format

As far as I can tell (tested with Qobuz), the only "artist listing" available in streaming services are the results of a search, so I'm sure they're talking about local content.

The OP appears to want "The Beatles" sorted as "Beatles" so the workarounds don't work (storing "Beatles, The" in the tag).

Do you mean the streaming services now? That's right, of course. I was just referring to my own collection and it works perfectly here.

I too prefer to sort and display "Band, The" when used in indexes - though I use the proper names everywhere else (album and track listings) - but it seems the OP wants to display the literal "The Beatles" under "B" not "Beatles, The". This approach aligns with how most servers implement sort tags i.e. display albumartist but sort by albumartistsort.
