Feedback Needed! WiiM Ultra Screen Enhancements

I would love to see a fully functional and supported DLNA casting feature be added to the Ultra and to other products. That is more important to me that the other things listed and some of the work has already been done. Sorry, but this is a top priority for me.

@RyanWithWiiM I would like to throw my hat in this ring as someone who would like to see some of this extra functionality added, particularly options to group and control other WiiM devices from the Ultra screen.

I have an Ultra connected to a turntable and CD player in a central room of my house, and 5 other WiiM devices across three floors. The ability to easily use the Ultra as a central control station for audio throughout my home is something I envisioned when I got all these units, and having to pull out the app any time I want to group devices is a big drawback, especially when it comes to guests and others in my home easily controlling the system in this way.

Maybe this use case is uncommon, but it may be more prevalent than what the other comments in this thread would suggest given multiroom audio is a key function of these devices in all their marketing materials. Extra functionality for the Ultra screen (above and beyond UI and visual optimizations that others have mentioned), like the ability to group and control other WiiMs, would certainly bolster its position as the flagship WiiM Streamer.

Probably everything you want is available on a Squeezebox Touch. WiiM should get hold of one and copy it

I like the idea of lyrics, but I think is not very useful if you sit a few feet from the WiiM. It would be nice to have that on the WiiM Home app.

A Spectrum of the WiiM input/output is essentially useless - it is what it is. Is it just for looks? A spectrum analysis only can make sense at the listening point.

a very accomplished and complete machine in terms of audio...but without the screen, its additional cost and its complications...

Maybe the screen should be removable so you can have it immediately to hand and be able to read the information.

I still think a small touch screen is/can be the most elegant solution (compared to buttons) for controlling all of the extra functionality of the Ultra without always having to reach for your phone. No need for a larger screen either. Definitely no need for a spectrum analyser - at least not before the rest of the GUI has seen some improvement.
