Fosi ZD3 question?

Hi all, I’m quite new to all this so please be gentle.

I currently have a WiiM Ultra going into a pair of V3 Mono’s and then onto a pair of Dali Oberon 5’s. It’s all as standard apart from the Op Amps in the V3’s where I have swapped the standard NE5532’s in slots 2 & 3 in both V3’s, for Sparkos SS3602’s and I’m very happy with the sound.

My question is would there be any benefit at all (or might it be detrimental) to add a ZD3 into this in between the WiiM Ultra and the pair of V3’s?

Is the DAC in the ZD3 any better than the DAC in the Ultra for example, and would the standard Op Amps in the ZD3 negate the fact that I have installed SS3602’s in the V3’s?

Please accept my apologies if I’ve asked a dumb question, we all have to learn

I think it's probably one of those situations where only you can decide if you like adding the zd3 more than the ultra alone.
As for the opamps, well, the ultra has opamps too, seemingly 4* TI OPA 1611A

This should tell you what you need to know:
"I’m very happy with the sound."

For me, I actually think the ultra analog out is rather good.
Although I do have to admit I prefer the dac in my Hegel!

No need to post in bold letters.

The ZD3 employs the ES9039Q2M DAC while the WiiM Ultra comes with the ES9038Q2M. Not much of a difference. No matter what DAC you chose, the Op-amps you installed in the V3 Mono remain the same.

The ZD3 allows for a balanced connection to the V3 Monos. If you experience any problems with the RCA connection from the WiiM Ultra to the V3 Monos you could try this. Otherwise it's probably not worth it.

Thanks for your reply, I did not intend to post in bold or cause any offence, and I do apologise if I have done so.

I do have sight issues and tend to draft things in another programme and cut and paste, perhaps I pressed the bold button in error and I am very sorry if this has caused upset.
