good CD choice

I still think LMS cd-player plugin (using a basic usb cd player, or onboard cd tray on laptop) is the best option. Full control on tablet/screen via Material skin (including playlists, cd-text & metadata). The plugin is a hidden gem within LMS

Is there any complicated setup needed? Does it work on Mac and with the latest Lyrian Media Server version?

It's a simple plugin for LMS. However, it only works with usb cd-players - and even then, some work others don't. Not sure about Mac, I use it with Windows 10/11.

There are so many options, it's difficult to choose!

For LMS, a cheap usb drive will work (best with Windows), with cd-text via Musicbrainz. Plays to each & every LMS player. Here's my current LMS players setup (with the cd currently playing to a Sonos Roam - quite amazing how the Roam can produce such a decent sound output)

(Lyrion and the cd drive are using a Win10 micro pc)
