My Sony Blu-ray player has a dedicated HDMI output for audio only. Will the Ultra eARC work with that?

Ultra supports ARC, not eARC, and its's unlikely the Blu-ray player provides that. Also, I think it's been mentioned that the actual pins in the HDMI connection for ARC are different from those used for non-ARC audio.
