Can someone help me? I have a Sony UBP-X800M2 Blu-ray player with a separate audio output via HDMI. I tried connecting the Sony Blu-ray player through the HDMI audio port to the WIIM ULTRA while connecting the HDMI video port to my LG TV. Unfortunately, I can't hear audio through the streamer even though I believe I’ve set everything up correctly. Here’s a summary of the settings:

BLU-RAY PLAYER:

1. Video output via HDMI VIDEO connected to the LG TV using a standard HDMI input (not eARC, but I also tried connecting it to the TV's eARC HDMI input without success).
2. Audio output via HDMI AUDIO input to the streamer, setting the player to audio separation by selecting the HDMI 2 port dedicated to audio output.
If anyone knows the solution to my problem and can help me, I’d be infinitely grateful.
Thank you all!

Hi
I have the same issue with WiiM Amp connected to Audio only HDMI 2 port on Sony BD X800M2.
I am not getting Audio out
Can someone please suggest a solution

Welcome,

As per the two posts above yours, the wiim's hdmi port is for hdmi arc.
This direct hdmi connection will not work.

I believe there are devices that can extract the audio from hdmi and convert it to, for example, optical that have been mentioned elsewhere in this forum.
Never tried one personally, and don't know how well they perform with non-stereo input.
Or, as suggested above, go via the TV. Maybe not ideal if using the BD player for CDs.
