I'm half way through a five week overseas holiday and I must say these headphones, paired with the Qudelix 5K DAC, PEQ and aftermarket balanced cable sound remarkable for the £130 paid a few weeks back. There are few things in my 68 years that have given so much pleasure for such little cost & I have a hifi graveyard in my loft (attic) as testament to the folly that this hobby can create.

Sony WH-1000XM6 to be officially announced 15th May. Likely 450eur or such. Could be a candidate for a wireless Bluetooth workhorse set (office, travel, plane, dog walks...).

Comparisons between Sony and other brands often seems to be however ANC vs Sound Quality... Feedback and reviews will be coming in massive numbers for the Sony so let's wait that out...

Version 4+5 didn't really convince me in terms of sound when I listened to them. As always, it's a question of preference.

It's funny... if we often point out that stereo isn't the panacea... apart from some rather unusual headsets, I've never been able to get used to the presentation of music through headphones... unrelated to their cost... even on extremely expensive ones... much less than with a pair of decent speakers in decent acoustics. ..


but for example, the peq proposal for a Wiim streamer seems seriously interesting for this use.

As Apple guy there are no real sense making alternatives to the Airpod Max. And due to the fact that I am not too often in really loud environments the ANC is good enough. And I love this childish Atmos thing, but I really hate that ridicolous "case" that looks like a girlie handbag. An ugly one. So it never left the packaging.

Understandable, AAC can also sound very good and, hey, tuning for the next metal event...

Very likeable .
The part on your ears is similar to the inside of my toaster . Will certainly have an extraordinary sound apart from the standard...

The B&W Px7 S3 is looking better all-round: better build quality, better sound quality, maybe slightly less ANC.

And a new B&W Px8 coming end of year normally. I'll likely anyhow only treat myself end of year/Jan

For the holidays i was looking for small form factor open back headphones. Ordered HPH-150 Yamaha headphones. I know they are a while on the marked, mostly used for studio use and electronic Instruments, some reviews are quite positive for its general sound quality. However, i hope its a fun thing, for its approx €70,00.
They will arrive at 30th of may from Amazon.nl

Anyone ever heard of these?

I own a Yamaha XT500 motorcycle, since 1990. My belovend companion for more then 35 years now. Once a year the XT500 joins us at the holidays, hope both Yamaha s will be friends during our trip

Oh, the stew Find dead center and kick it on, that thing . Always liked the SR too.

Had a CB 750 Four, a VFR 750F. Unfortunately had a serious motorcycle accident at the end of the 80s with the brand new VFR, yes a car driver had taken my right of way...
I've a VT600C in the garage since 1992. Rebuilt with long AME fork, forward-mounted footrests etc. But I hardly ride it any more.

Unfortunately, Honda doesn't make headphones

The Honda VT600 is a very nice bike with a suberb V2 engine, lovely relaxed cruising bike, you should really enjoy it as much as possible ! That engine will not catapult you but its soooooo smooth... Lively at all rpm, and that sound!

All through, i was curious about their Headphones range! Just found some 'Honda headphones' on eBay

Q: can a phone be charged at the same time using an usb c audio dongle for headphone use?

Bought a Fioo KA 13 usb headphone dongle dac/amp. It seems these dongles will rapidly drain the phone s battery, is there a way to split usb c for charging the phone while use the dongle for headphone listening at the same time?

Been looking on internet, but dont understand the purpose of advertised products, else than the ability charging 2 devices at the same time.

This headphones config is meant for the holidays, a bit clumbsy to bring my Wiim Ultra to to camping place, all through the idea is not bad. I think no one will take its Ultra on Holliday? I mean, the Ultra wont fit into my standard toiletry bag.

Charging the phone while using the dac/amp headphone dongle would be great. Thanks for any possible solutions

So this is my setup for charging and using headphones at the same time.
Ugreen dac with built in pd charging ( mic in dongle but I haven't tried it) slightly different from the one I listed earlier
Samsung s23 ultra
Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro x
Powerbank instead of mains for photo
Sorry for poor photo
A wireless charger or magsafe case and magsafe powerbank will also work if the phone supports wireless charging to use your own dac

One step further for the holidays, these Yamaha HPH-150B open back headphones sounds soso, compared to full size cups, but with EQ there was a lot improvement in SQ. On my Phone (Pixel 8) purchased and installed the app 'USB Audio Player Pro' . With this app you have full control over the external DAC and full EQ. Bonus is it supports native Tidal too, so EQ of my taste while listening Tidal. Tidal app itself does not come with EQ...

Normally i dont care that much on EQ, but with these small set of Yamaha cups, sound improvement is a big step upwards with EQ. Really recommend the App. Will play local files as many streaming service as well.

Investment of a Fioo KA13 + the Yamaha phones + the app USB Audio Player Pro approx €160,-
Funny to 'discover' the benefits of using headphones, after so many years.

I know, this is the Wiim Forum, way off topic, but i really did all i could to convince him to take the Ultra to my camping place, its an innocent device! But the owner still refuses dedicated hifi stuff on his property.
