Hey Music Lovers! Let's Get This Party Started!
I'm super stoked to build a dedicated space for us to chat about music together! As someone who's passionate about tunes, I want to make sure we can all share our favorite artists, discover new sounds, and just have a blast talking about music.

So, I want to hear from YOU!
What kind of music discussion do you want to have here? Do you want to dive deep into specific genres, like rock or hip-hop? Or maybe you're more into discussing the latest releases and sharing your thoughts on new albums?

Should we have some fun music challenges?
Like, maybe a "Guess the Song" game or a "Music Trivia" thread? Or perhaps we could have a "Weekly Playlist" thread where we share our fave tunes of the week?

What about featured artists or albums?
Would you like to see a "Artist of the Month" or "Album of the Week" type thing, where we dive deep into a specific artist or album and discuss all the juicy details?

Let's make this community our own!
I want this space to feel like a cozy little music club, where we can all hang out and chat about the things we love. So, share your ideas, your passions, and your favorite tunes!

Let's vote on some suggestions.
Feel free to recommend your own

I'm gonna stick with the Listening thread. No wish to get involved in the minutiae of some track on some obscure band's releases. Sorry 😁

No! Keep the Listening thread separate. Otherwise this music thread will become one huge jumble of bits & pieces. Bad move.

How about we pin the listening thread at the top of the board so it stays separate?

I think users will make their wings fly if you tell them exciting news about what to expect in coming days.

Could turn into some of those multi-hundred-post "discussions" of favorite tracks or artists like on Reddit.
Would that be seen as a good or bad development?

Breaking News - ‘Wiim Forum’ becomes the Fast Shows ‘Jazz Club’. UK viewers perhaps… Please keep totally separate. May as well add a ‘what cables are you using’ to make it more less relevant to Wiim products.

I come to the Wiim Forum to learn and talk about Wiim products and their use. Discussion of music likes and trends seems like it does not fit here. At best, it is a side topic that should be kept separate from existing content, including What Are You Listening To.

As with all things, you don’t need to participate if you don’t wish to. Plus “What Are You Listening To” will continue to exist as a separate thread, so if you don’t join in on the other threads, you’ll not be bothered by them.

One of the biggest advantages in the German analog forum I read is the possibility to "clean" the list of topics and threads. What isn't of specific interest everyone is able to "design" the content list to ones own taste.
I can see that being useful at a forum/subforum level, but how do you only see the threads you want? Can you just show threads you subscribe to, but how then do you deal with new threads?

The base software here is xenforo so maybe their support forums can suggest a way that WiiM might consider implementing here. I know WiiM can create private forums (they’ve used that for closed betas) that are restricted to invitees, but not sure if there’s a tool for end users to do that. Or maybe that would just overcomplicate matters for most members?

Of course. I just hope it does not take any time from any Wiim employee. I would much rather they spend their time on Wiim specific issues. In corporate speak, Wiim should stick to its core mission, IMO. If users find it useful, then that is fine.

I guess WiiM will still moderate the content, but we can all help them there by reporting anything that’s out of line to save them trawling every comment which can be a bind - I know ;)
