I have a Technics SL-BD27 plugged into the phono input of the ultra. I read that the turntable has no preamp (there is no line/phono switch) and that the ultra needs the turntable to have one. So... I ordered Rolls VP29 preamp. Meanwhile, I have the turntable plugged into the phono jacks on the ultra and it sounds great! Maybe I got bad info? If I want to try the Rolls, do I plug the output of the Rolls into the phono input still or do I plug it into the line-in. Do I have to change settings and bypass the internal phono preamp? Sorry, pretty confused. Thanks

Hi,
The Ultra has a built-in phono preamp, so there is no need to buy a new phono preamp if you like the sound of it.

If your turntable does not have a built-in phono amplifier, connect it to the phono input on the Ultra. (Your current connection is fine.)

If you are adding a phono preamp, you will need to connect it to the line input of the Ultra.

But I don't have a turntable, so someone can correct me if I'm wrong 😅.
