I want to use Wiim Ultra USB memory like NAS

I can see the WiiM USB drive on both Windows 10 and 11. I only tried a file transfer on 11.
If you can see files via Windows Explorer then the implication is that Samba server is installed and running on the WiiM which is exposing the files to public users on a read only basis. To write to the drive Samba would need to be configured to allow read/write access to a known Linux user on the WiiM - no such user exists at present that I am aware of.

WiiM would need a mechanism for user setup on Ultra/Amp in the App e.g. wiimuser/password which would then be used to connect to the Samba drive. Fairly easy on a stock Linux but the app probably presents the time consuming bit. Best practise would then be for any WiiM device where this is implemented to have a reserved static IP.

Don't think that's related as the folder view mimics the UPNP server menu structure which is unrelated to the file structure exposed by a Samba share.

They show as media servers which is fair and you'd expect a Windows client to be able to read their contents to play them, but up until this was mentioned I had never noticed them as entries in File Explorer.

Are you saying that you see the WiiM Ultra with USB under "Network" but when you click it instead of opening a browser it is displaying the files in the UPnP structure? I have never seen that behaviour before.

Where exactly is this appearing in File Explorer - screenshot?

Ah. Yes that is a UPnP/DLNA server pointer nothing to do with Samba. Yes you can copy from there but you will never be able to write via that mechanism. The only way of exposing it for writing via native Windows would be Samba.

And for completeness, here's my LMS server showing when I enabled the UPNP media interface plugin just for fun...

Agreed, I wouldn't expect to be able to write to a media server without a mechanism like Samba, but as mentioned I've never noticed before (tbh wouldn't have thought of trying) that you can browse such via File Explorer
