Individual fixed volume settings for outputs

I was just about to buy a Wiim ultra until I came across the following problem:
We need to connect our large active speakers via an external DAC to the Wiim toslink output and then set the output volume in the Wiim at %100 (fixed volume). However, we also want to connect desktop active monitors to the Wiim itself using its analog outputs (for a different listening scenario). The problem is that the fixed volume setting is universal across all outputs. If someone happens to forget to turn off the fixed volume setting and then puts on headphones or uses the desktop speakers connected to the line out then there will be a big problem: either damage to equipment or hearing loss. This seems to be a serious issue which has to be addressed and I know that it has been talked of before on this forum.
My question is will this be addressed in the future or is there a technical reason or hardware limitation which stops individual fixed volume settings for outputs being implemented?

Many thanks.

Many thanks.
I did read that thread already, but it doesn’t answer my question! Hence this new thread.
I don't think anyone in the forum can really answer your question.

Maybe better to raise a ticket to WiiM via the WiiM Home App "Feedback" option?

Surely that’s where smart presets come in? If you define the audio output and volume in a smart preset and assign it to a preset button on the remote, a single button press takes care of both settings for you. Just set up a smart preset for each scenario

Great, thank you. I will look into that. Cheers.

I listen to classical as well, Mahler and such, and I use digital volume in the Ultra. That said I do use the full range for some Mahler recordings, peaking at 107 dB in the listening position.

I think (will need to check / confirm) that 100% volume but not fixed is still bit perfect (with no other settings to prevent that).
You may still want/need presets for your different outputs, but I don't think you need fixed for your main speakers.

Volume and bit perfect wise I shouldn’t think there’s a difference between fixed and 100%, fixed just means (to me) that you can’t change it using the slider accidentally or otherwise.

I’ll perhaps qualify that or maybe even change my mind ;) Maybe it’s like EQ off v flat EQ which aren’t the same as the latter has gone thru some maths/dsp that might introduce some errors. Maybe we need WiiM to produce the definitive statement on it…

Don't you remember @onlyoneme testing about it? (My memory is hazy...)

If I'm not mistaken, fixed volume and 100% volume are the same.
