Hi all,

Fairly new to WiiM Amp Ultra, and trying to work out the viability of connecting an audio interface like the Behringer Uphoria umc204 to the WiiM Amp Ultra so I can connect an electric guitar in and play through PC software. Currently, my Wiim Amp is mainly used for music listening and is connected to my PC via optical, with the amp connects to a set of bookshelf speakers. As the WiiM amp doesnt support connecting a guitar cable directly, I need to add in a audio interface into the loop. From my understanding, I should be able to connect two separate 1/4" TRS to RCA cables from the UMC204's Line Out 1/2 to the WiiM Amp Ultra's RCA Line In ports, and a USB from the PC to the audio interface.

Does anybody have anybody have any practical experience with doing something like this, and if so, does it work, and how well?

My speakers don't have multiple inputs so I am limited to them running out the WiiM. I don't really need the features of an audio interface, so its really just for the cable connection really

Hi
The WiiM device has audio delay due to the DSP, so this may be an issue for you.

@Jasonr

You already have the Amp Ultra, so it might be too late, but the WiiM Ultra + Vibelink Amp might work. Connect the audio interface to the Vibe's line-in, then connect the Ultra and Vibe via SPDIF.

As @Wiimer already suggested, the digital pipeline in WiiM Amp Ultra will add a very noticeable propagation latency to the signal, making it unsuitable for playing a guitar through it. It is simply not a device optimized for this use-case.
