Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

Excellent news, but we need something portable and battery-powered, like the Audio Pro C3. I have 2 of them connected as satellites to my Wiim Pro, and they work flawlessly. Shame they haven't received a firmware update since 2021. Ideal to listen to music in the garden or under the shower...

I wonder what the chances are of this development, if very successful, being extended to more of the Audio Pro range. Updates to the C20, A15, A28, A38 and the A48 range come to mind? What does the future hold for the Audio Pro Link 2?

My take is that as established models, they use the same older Linkplay module that the Pro, Pro Plus etc use that supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, rather than the newer modules that support WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 but not Airplay.

Don’t see any rating in the manual, but there are the usual warnings about being used near water, about not exposing it to moisture etc..

Not many UK bathrooms will have sockets so it wouldn't be practical here. I use my Squeezebox Radio in the bathroom which isn't particularly waterproof so I try to avoid too much steam

I would buy these to replace Google Minis in certain rooms of the house, but now waiting to see if they offer the light grey option in the future.

Minis currently serve as more background music speakers, and don't need/want any mic functionality.

I’ve used echo dots (gen 3 and 4) in my bathroom, but I drilled a small hole thru the wall to the adjacent bedroom where their power supply was plugged in. As low power (and low cost) units, I wasn’t really concerned about steam, condensation etc.

I use dots myself but they’re on battery packs that have an off button and they work well

However, like existing WiiM devices, Alexa voice control will be for Alexa supported services. Also, I don’t expect the speakers themselves to have a microphone for voice commands, you’ll need to use an echo or maybe even a WiiM remote if supported. As an aside, the audio pro app has a “talk to Alexa” feature which acts like a remote, which would be useful in the WiiM home app too.

I don’t know if I can only listen to just one speaker. I’m used to one speaker per ear like in stereo.
