Introducing the WiiM Edition of the Audio Pro A10 MKII and C10 MKII

Can someone clarify what these are? Looks like Sonos speakers, but made by WiiM.

Are they controlled by the WiiM app? Do they effectively look to your phone like the other WiiMs? Can they be grouped, etc.?

They’re made by a Swedish firm with a long pedigree in speaker production. They have always included Linkplay modules with tailored versions of firmware from the same stable as WiiM, much as other third party system integrators have done (like Edifier etc)

Yes. Yes. Yes, with each other and with your WiiM devices.

Edit: if you download their own Audio Pro app, you’ll see they share a very common look and feel with the WiiM app - indeed, you’ll see your WiiM devices there too, just not with all the features you’ll see in the full WiiM app. One thing the audio Pro app does have that I’ve asked WiiM to include for WiiM devices is a “talk to Alexa” feature which acts like a software remote mic.

Edit #2: I think we need WiiM to answer my earlier query re Alexa/ AlexaCast as the Amazon product pages now have no mention of either :(

I've updated the original post here to remove Alexa control, I must have misread something and it slipped through the edits. The Amazon product listing is correct. I'll let you know if I hear anything about Alexa control being added as a capability.

I'll double check that I have the right info there, I'll let you know if a typo slipped in.

There are some hardware differences separating the normal A10 MKIIs from the WiiM Editions. The WiiM Editions are built for the WiiM OS, while they're also going to work with Audio Pro’s multiroom system, the WiiM Edition offers more advanced multiroom features and will continue to evolve with regular software updates.
I already own the following Audio Pro speakers:

2xC5 MkII
2xC10 MkII
1xA15

They all work seamlessly with the WIIM app with full multi-room capabilities.

I think the “Wiim-edition” addition to the name is a great marketing move to signal that Audio Pro use the more well known WIIM-brand rather than the less known “linkplay” technology, which WIIM is based on. So in essence no hardware difference but a major branding move, which I applaud…

That's what I was wondering about if you buy one now_ could even be a second handed one _ one can use this the same as the WIIM edition?
I want to have all the functionalities within the WIIM app.
Are you sure there is no difference?
If there isn't I'm considering buying a second handed.
Not sure maybe it will be a new one , but it can be a lot cheaper if you choose for second handed.
It's a risk don't know I'm willing to take at this point.
But what foremost important it's the same as the WIIM edition.
The C 10 they sell for 240 .. somewhere in Belgium.

As long as it’s MkII C5’s, C10’s or A10’ I don’t think so. The Audio Pro app and the Wiim app are - besides different colours - the same, which is due to both being based on Linkplay technology, which powers both WIIM and Audio Pro. I also downloaded a host of other Linkplay apps and it’s the same (4stream, AudioCast, ieast, Omnia receiver, Vifa Home and ElipsonMultiroom). Its all the same technology (Linkplay) and the same OS and functionality.

I suppose one difference will be that the WiiM versions have Squeezelite but that is only important if you use LMS.

I don’t own a WIIM device yet (but am planning on buying one for a set of B&O speakers) so they can play synchronous with my Audio Pro speakers. This might not work (as Audio Pro only makes the speaker part) but have you tried downloading the Audio Pro app and see if it sees your WIIM device….

A10 MKII works seamlessly in the WiiM Home App, but it does not have the eq and room correction functionality that the WiiM devices have, which I believe has a fundamental firmware/hardware aspect.

That's why I wait for the WIIM version.
I want to buy a audio pro speaker but with the exact same functionality as I have with the Wiim App on my WIIM amp.

Audio pro app sees my WiiM Ultra, no problem.
